The Scientific Research Division at Tafila Technical University is responsible for overseeing all matters related to scientific research in accordance with the approved regulations and guidelines, ensuring that research activities are conducted with the highest academic and administrative standards. The division is dedicated to providing full support for research projects undertaken by faculty members and graduate students, while safeguarding the rights of both the university and the researchers.
The division is also tasked with preparing the budget allocated for scientific research and providing necessary funding for numerous research projects, particularly those with an applied focus that contribute to developing practical solutions for societal and industrial challenges.
The division plays an active role in representing the university in the Supreme Committee for Scientific Research under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, through the membership of the Dean of Scientific Research, enhancing coordination with official authorities and reflecting the university’s standing at the national level.
Moreover, the division supports the organization and participation in scientific conferences and workshops at both local and international levels, including hosting events on campus. It also establishes agreements with external official entities to enhance research projects, conferences, and scientific visits.
The division ensures the development of specialized templates and procedures and coordinates with the university’s IT Center to make them accessible on the university website, thereby enhancing transparency and ease of access to information. Additionally, it is responsible for preparing and organizing meetings of the Scientific Research Council, formulating research recommendations, and submitting them to the Deans’ Council to ensure that research policies align with the university’s objectives and strategic vision.
The Graduate Studies Division at Tafila Technical University is responsible for comprehensive coordination with the academic deanships to monitor and manage graduate student affairs, ensuring that the objectives of each program are met while maintaining high standards of education and scientific research. The division also coordinates with the faculties and the Admissions and Registration Department to organize comprehensive exams and manage the procedures for Master’s and Doctoral thesis defenses, ensuring full compliance with academic regulations.
The division relies on an advanced system developed by the University’s IT Center to track students’ academic performance and to compile accurate statistics regarding student numbers, specializations, and academic progress. Looking ahead, the division aims to expand graduate programs, including Master’s and Doctoral degrees, in order to attract more students and further enhance the University’s national and international standing.
Applicant Guidelines
- The application form must be completed clearly and accurately in two copies.
- Applicants for Master’s and Doctoral programs must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, respectively, from a university recognized by Tafila Technical University under the regular admission system.
- The application form must be submitted to the Scientific Research and Graduate Studies Division, accompanied by the following documents in two certified copies:
- Two recent passport-sized photographs.
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
- Bachelor’s transcript.
- Birth certificate.
- Passport.
- Family book.
- Military service record for Jordanian male students or proof of exemption/completion of service.

- Certified copy of the high school transcript.
- Certified copy of the first university degree diploma and previous graduate diploma if applicable.
- Equivalence of the degree from the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for graduates of non-Jordanian, non-Arab universities.
- Certified copy of the official diploma and Bachelor’s transcripts.
- Certified copy of passport for non-Jordanian students.
- Birth certificate issued by the Jordanian Civil Status and Passports Department or a certified copy.
- Certified copy of the national ID card issued by the Civil Status and Passports Department.
- Certified copy of military service record for Jordanian students, or proof of completion, or exemption from military service.
- Approval from relevant authorities or institutions requiring prior consent for enrollment in graduate studies, particularly for employees of the Jordanian Armed Forces, Public Security, or Tafila Technical University staff.
- Certified copy of TOEFL score from centers accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (for non-Jordanian students or as required by the program).
- One recent passport-sized photo (4 × 6 cm).
- Receipt of 15 Jordanian Dinars issued by the University Finance Department (application fee).

The division is responsible for overseeing all academic and financial matters related to scholarship recipients, maintaining continuous coordination with official authorities and various university departments to facilitate their academic and administrative procedures both within Jordan and abroad. It also prepares and organizes the sessions of the Scientific Scholarship Committee, which convenes to discuss issues and topics pertaining to the affairs of scholarship students and the overall scholarship programs.
Additionally, the division actively works to enhance opportunities for university students and nominees by coordinating agreements with local and international universities, enabling them to secure admission for various academic programs and degree levels. The division also manages the publication of official announcements in local newspapers to attract qualified candidates, in close coordination with the faculties to assess their scholarship needs, ensuring that the university’s requirements are met and that scholarship opportunities are effectively utilized.
