University Security Department

The University Security Department at Tafila Technical University is one of the vital administrative units responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the campus. It plays a key role in providing a secure and stable university environment that supports the educational and teaching processes to their fullest extent.

Initially, upon the establishment of Tafila Technical University with its various faculties and administrative units, the Campus Security Division operated under the Services Directorate, performing its assigned duties within the available resources at that time. With the university’s significant growth—both academically and administratively—along with the increasing number of students, faculty members, administrative staff, and the expansion of university facilities, there emerged a pressing need to develop and enhance the campus security system both organizationally and administratively.

In line with the University’s commitment to maintaining order and safety on campus and enhancing general safety standards, the University Security Department was officially established on March 9, 2014, as an independent directorate. It is responsible for planning and implementing security policies and procedures using modern methods and best practices, fully aligned with the University’s mission and objectives. The Department seeks to ensure a safe campus environment and to provide stable and secure educational and teaching settings for students, faculty, administrative staff, employees, and visitors, thereby ensuring the continuity of academic and administrative operations without disruption.

The University Security Department consists of the Campus Division, which monitors security across the University’s facilities and grounds, and the Gate Division, responsible for regulating entry and exit and enforcing security procedures at all campus entrances. The Department works in continuous coordination with various University units and relevant authorities and relies on a qualified and well-trained workforce committed to performing their duties with responsibility and discipline, reflecting the civilized image of Tafila Technical University as a leading educational institution and a safe academic environment.
