Legal Affairs Directorate

The Legal Affairs Directorate at Tafila Technical University was established in 2018 to serve as the University’s specialized legal authority, entrusted with a comprehensive range of responsibilities aimed at supporting institutional operations and ensuring the integrity of legal procedures across all university units. The Directorate is primarily responsible for providing legal opinions on civil and criminal cases involving the University or its employees, thereby safeguarding the University’s interests and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The Directorate also plays a pivotal role in the drafting, reviewing, and auditing of proposed laws, regulations, and instructions related to the University, ensuring their alignment with national legislation and higher education policies. In addition, it actively participates in committees formed under the University’s councils, offering specialized legal advice to support informed decision-making processes.

Furthermore, the Legal Affairs Directorate provides legal counsel to disciplinary councils within the University, ensuring that all disciplinary procedures are conducted in accordance with established legal frameworks. It is also responsible for drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, memoranda of understanding, and undertakings to which the University is a party, ensuring that the University’s rights and obligations are clearly defined and legally protected.

In addition, the Directorate offers legal consultations to all university units through the University Presidency and contributes to the documentation and organization of the University’s legislative framework, as well as relevant Jordanian legislation. It continuously monitors applicable laws, regulations, and instructions, along with the policies and decisions issued pursuant to them, ensuring proper implementation and alignment with legal requirements. Through these functions, the Directorate promotes the principles of the rule of law, transparency, and good governance within the University’s institutional framework.
