The Department of Arabic Language and Literature was established in 2006 within the College of Arts. The first batch of bachelor’s students graduated in 2009. The number of instructors is 10, four with the rank of professor, three with the rank of associate professor, and three with the rank of assistant professor. These professors teach various subjects, each according to his specialization in all areas of the Arabic language: literature, criticism, grammar, morphology, and linguistics. The faculty members participate in conferences, seminars and scientific meetings inside and outside the Kingdom, and they also participate in vivo of masters and doctoral degrees in our national universities. Hopefully, there are future intentions to open a master’s program in Literature and criticize due to the increasing number of graduates wishing to complete their higher studies, and the availability of academic ranks in the department.
