The Department of Applied Biological Sciences was established in 2015 within the College of Science at Tafila Technical University. Its purpose is to grant a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Biological Sciences. The department aims to prepare qualified human resources in various applied fields across all branches of Biological sciences at both educational and research levels. The academic curriculum consists of 134 credit hours for theoretical and practical courses, equipping students to train in the latest technical methods used in studying and analyzing biological systems, ranging from microbes to the organs in a living organism. There’s a future plan to equip the department with state-of-the-art research laboratories in addition to the educational labs, covering all branches of applied biological sciences.

  • Graduate students endowed with cognitive and research skills in various fields of applied biological sciences, enabling them to find job opportunities locally, regionally, and globally.
  • Develop the department’s plans and programs to keep pace with emerging developments in applied biological sciences both scientifically and practically.
  • Foster creativity, innovation, leadership, and teamwork among students.
  • Supply the local, regional, and global job market with distinguished scientific specialties in the field of applied biological sciences.
  • Attract competent faculty members and send outstanding students abroad to obtain advanced degrees in emerging specializations that the department needs in order to enhance its performance and support its programs, aiming for the highest scientific standards.
