Training: Quality assurance in vocational education and training

USAID

Areas of Interest: Education, economic growth, agriculture and trade; water, global

Objectives:
-To improve higher education leadership and administrative
transformation,
- To improve workforce development systems with community colleges,

Training: "Participant Training" is either short-term technical training or longer-term,
degree-earning academic training for mid- to high-level professionals from the
public and private sectors.

DAAD

Education & Research:
With 14 Branch Offices and 40+ Information Centers DAAD runs a global network, and funding is available for students and scholars of other countries. Primary Interest are: German Studies , Engineering ExchangeGAIN -- German Academic International Network, Programs for Bilateral Cooperation
Training and workshops: for instructors and students are available at Goethe institute in     Amman.

TEMPUS

Education:
1. Joint European Projects: Curricula (new courses, update existing ones,    
           modernization of teaching tools and methodologies. Provision for material aid
(equipment, teaching materials) 
2. Structural/Complementary Measures: changes in University
                 management/administration.
3. Individual Mobility Grants: intended for academic and administrative stuff. 

Training: links with wider social, economic and political community (training course),
quality assurance workshops.

Education & Research:
1. Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program: arranges for Visiting                                                (Non-U.S.) Scholars to receive grants for advanced research 
and university lecturing in the United States.
2. Fulbright Visiting Specialists Program: Direct Access to the    Muslim    World  is designed to promote understanding of the Muslim World and civilization

Objectives: It awards orders to national and international suppliers for obtaining technical
equipment and materials. "Procurement of consulting services” , vocational
training, education, Environment and infrastructure (environmental policy,
eco-efficiency, water, energy, transport, social and ecological standards)

ICARDA

 

- ICARDA's mission: is to improve the welfare of poor people and alleviate poverty
through research and training in dry areas of the developing world, by
increasing the production, productivity and nutritional quality of food, while
preserving and enhancing the natural resource base.
ICARDA is committed to the advancement of agricultural research; free exchange of  germplasm and information for research; protection of intellectual property rights, including indigenous knowledge of farmers; human resources development; the sustainable use of natural resources; and poverty alleviation, particularly among women and children.

ICTP

Training and Education: Gives the opportunity to spend periods ranging from a few
months to one year at Italian research laboratories of universities,
governmental and private institutions, which operate in different branches of
Physics. This includes academic studies as well as practical applications and
industrial projects.
