Department of Mathematics & Computer Science

 

 The Department of Mathematics & Computer Science was originally established in the academic year 2005/2006. It offers a bachelor degree in two different undergraduate programs: Mathematics and Computer information Systems (CIS). The department provides the academic requirements for the use of computer skills for various colleges and disciplines at the university. Five computer laboratories belong to the department with more than 200 Core I5 personal computers running MS Windows XP. The Labs are staffed by laboratory supervisors. The laboratories at the Department are constantly updated.

The Department has 27 Ph.D. and Master Degree holders as faculty members, in addition to 4 Ph.D. candidates studying in different fields of Computer Information Technology and 9 Ph.D. candidates studying Mathematics in different respected universities. The Department has about 191 undergraduate students in Mathematics and 292 students in Computer Information Technology.

The Department provides an intensive coverage of well balanced departmental requirements in different fields, both in classrooms and Computer laboratories. The main objective of the Department is to graduate highly qualified students.
