As an implementation of the royal directions, the office was founded in 2006 to act as an umbrella for supporting social and scientific development. It aims to provide grants to Jordanian students who are unable to pursue their studies.

The fund also extends guidance and counseling in communicative skills and the means of obtaining suitable jobs. Moreover it links the students community with the public and the private sectors. The establishment (king Abdullah the 2nd fund) also holds training courses to develop student skills in work seeking and C.V preparation. Similarly it has a section that tracks and advises graduate students in coordination with the constant learning centers and concerned parties. The fund also provides financial support to graduation projects and provides adequate information about the labor market .
