The College of Science (CSCI) at TTU was started  on the first day of the academic year 2005-2006 with two departments, chemistry and Physics.   Since then, the College has been working on establishing of B.Sc. programs in several branches of science on modern bases. In the chemistry department two B.Sc. programs have been developed, namely, chemistry and chemical technology. The main goal  of chemical technology is to dridge the gap between pure chemistry and local industries which require skilled professionals in applied chemistry . Most of current chemistry programs in Jordanian universities concentrate on pure chemistry but non of these programs deals with technological aspect of chemistry. Thus, this new program will hopefully fulfill the needs of the developing industry. At the beginning of the 2nd semester 2005/2006 a B.Sc. program in mathematics has been established and started receiving new students.

Now, after two years , the number of students that has been enrolled in the previously mentioned programs has reached (750) students.  Moreover, plans for a large College building are now ready hoping to start the construction in of sciences the year 2008. In the new building all the facilities such as teaching laboratories, research laboratories, classroom, will be established. With high ambition and efforts I hope that the College of science at TTU will be one of the high standard College among Jordanian universities.
