Following the foundation of Tafila Technical University on January 17th 2005, the College of Education Sciences (CES) was established. CES aims to prepare and qualify professional teachers, supervisors, headmasters/headmistresses and educational researchers.
The CES offers B.A degrees in four programs: Child Education, Special Education, Classroom-Teacher Education, and Classroom-Teacher/ English language. It also offers a higher diploma in education. Additionally, the CES offers educational courses for associate diploma students affiliated to our Intermediate Technical Community College. There are (777) students in the CES. The number of faculty is 30 for the academic year 2008-2009.
Future expansion is projected by establishing two new departments awarding bachelor degrees in Special Education and Educational Administration, and by opening graduate studies programs in Educational Psychology and educational administration and Curriculum and Instruction.
