 About FOA'S Establishment

When Tafila Technical University was established in 2005, the Faculty of Arts did not yet exist as an independent Faculty at that time; in fact it was only part of the Faculty of Education. This newly born Faculty came into existence in September 2006 comprising 3 departments:  Arabic, English Language and Literature, and, a month later, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences was created. The first two departments offer B.A. degrees; none offers M.A. or Ph.D. degrees at this point, and the department of Humanities and Social Sciences offers no degrees as such. The Departments of Arabic Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, and Humanities and Social Sciences thus constituted the nucleus of this yet-to-emerge Faculty which has 30 teaching staff members all in all and a total of 5 administrative officials. Students who are enrolled in the Faculty amount to nearly 445.
