experience.
Vision
FOA aims
at training students to achieve academic distinction

Being aware of the importance of partnerships and
co-operation locally, regionally and internationally,
FOA,though a relatively new faculty, has had a few exchange
agreements with prominent international universities
and academic institutions. FOA will be dedicated to
the exploration of new knowledge and exchange of

challenges and the ever-pressing, ever-changing
demands of the future. To be sure, FOA is commited to

students. The philosophy common to our programs is to

to enhance their abilities and future
careers.
About
FOA'S Establishment
When
Tafila Technical University was established in 2005,
the Faculty of Arts did not yet exist as an
independent Faculty at that time; in fact it was only
part of the Faculty of Education. This newly born
Faculty came into existence in September 2006
comprising 3 departments: Arabic, English
Language and Literature, and, a month later, the
Department of Humanities and Social Sciences was
created. The first two departments offer B.A. degrees;
none offers M.A. or Ph.D. degrees at this point, and
the department of Humanities and Social Sciences
offers no degrees as such. The
Departments of Arabic Language and Literature, English
Language and Literature, and Humanities and Social
Sciences thus constituted the nucleus of this
yet-to-emerge Faculty which has 30 teaching staff
members all in all and a total of 5 administrative
officials. Students who are enrolled in the Faculty
amount to nearly 445.
Aims and
Objectives
In
accordance with the high objectives of Tafila
Technical University, the Faculty of Arts aims at
accomplishing the following: -
Instilling a sense of belonging to the nation in the
new coming and creating a generation of students
equipped with sublime morals, firmly held belief in
Allah and the national unity. -
Highlighting aspects of Islamic civilization and
architecture by the virtue of the valuable courses to
be taught in these specific fields and majors. -
Teaching intellectual and authentic human values, a
rich cultural resource, thus providing students with
the means of development and progress, which, in turn,
enables the Arab society at large to develop. -

specializations, in accordance with the needs of
society and its development, and providing its
graduates with knowledge, disciplinary principles and
the methods of applying them in day – to – day life
and teaching. -
Spreading Arabic, the language of the Holy Qur'an, in
non-Arab and Islamic societies, and, meanwhile,
educating its students in English, being a universal
