Tafila Technical University applies the credit hours system , known for its flexibility as the student can freely choose from a wide range of courses. It also enhances interaction among students of different specializations, as they take courses according to their personal liking. The academic year consists of  two regular terms (Fall and Spring) and a Summer .

·         Fall: September through January

·         Spring: February through June

·         Summer: July through August

The number of credit hours which the student can take per term ranges between 12 and 18. However, the student whose GPA (general point average) is very good can take 21 credit hours. The minimum number of credit hours registered per semester is 12 for all students.
